Things have been going well for me since I came to DC! Not only do my wife and I get to visit awesome museums each week, cars try to run me over less than in Texas, and the food is amazing!
At the museum I was awarded the Global Genome Institute Peer Research Award for just over $14,000 to work on a protocol to extract DNA from formalin-fixed salamanders from Appalachia. I am really excited about that project, which I am starting soon!
I have also had a bunch of paper get accepted, including one on teaching! You can see those on the Publications tab.
